Ingredients

  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 21 ounce can cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 cup Daisy Sour Cream
  • 1 egg yolk, slightly beaten

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix together the flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, salt, and baking powder in a medium bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold butter, and add the milk (the dough will be very soft).
  4. Spread the dough in an ungreased 9-inch round cake pan, bringing the dough up the sides. Spread the pie filling over the top of the dough.
  5. Combine the Daisy sour cream, egg yolk, and remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar until blended. Spread over the cherry pie filling.
  6. Bake for 50-55 minutes or until the topping is set and the crust is browned. Cool for about 1 hour before serving.
