Ingredients

1 tablespoon shortening

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup Daisy Brand Sour Cream

1 1/2 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar

1 teaspoon salt
Directions
Cream shortening, sugar and eggs together until fluffy. Dissolve soda into sour cream. Sift flour, salt, and cream of tartar together and add alternately with sour cream to first mixture. Beat thoroughly. Bake in cupcake pans lined with paper or tin liners at 375 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Serve with ready-made or sour cream frosting. *OPTIONAL:(Substitute 1/2 cup flour with 1/2 cup cocoa powder for chocolate cupcakes.)
