Quick and Easy Caramel Apple Dessert

1 package prepared double pie crust

8 cups peeled, cored, and sliced apples

2 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon salt

3 tablespoons cornstarch

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

3/4 cup Daisy Brand Sour Cream

1/2 cup caramel ice cream topping or apple dip
Directions
Line an 8-inch pie pan with one crust and set aside. Put sliced apples into a large bowl. Toss with lemon juice. Mix salt, cornstarch, cinnamon, sugar, nutmeg, and sour cream in a small bowl. Pour over apples and mix to coat. Pour into prepared crust. Cut lattice strips out of remaining crust and cover pie in a cornstarch pattern. Seal edges to prevent dripping while baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Remove from oven. Pour heated caramel over pie and return to oven for 15 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
