Ingredients

  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 cup Daisy Brand 2% Cottage Cheese
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • 2 tablespoons minced onion
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon softened butter
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dill seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour

Directions

Soften yeast in warm water; set aside. Heat cottage cheese to lukewarm. Stir in dill, onion, sugar, butter, salt, dill seed and baking soda. Stir in yeast mixture and 2 cups of the flour to form soft dough. Knead in remaining flour on well-floured board, adding flour if necessary. Place in greased bowl; cover with plastic wrap sprayed with cooking spray. Let rise until doubled, about an hour. Stir down and turn into well-greased loaf pan. Let rise 30 minutes in a warm place. Bake at 350 for 35 to 40 minutes or until top is deep golden brown and loaf sounds hollow when tapped. Brush with additional butter and sprinkle with salt.
