Ingredients

  • 9 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup Daisy Brand Sour Cream
  • 1 cup bacon
  • 2 tablespoons minced parsley
  • 3/4 cup Daisy Brand 4% Cottage Cheese
  • 1 1/8 cups heavy cream
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch white pepper

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Crust: Cut butter into quarter-sized pieces, toss into flour to coat. Add sour cream to the flour mixture and mix just until combined. Form a flattened ball and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before rolling out. Filling: Cook bacon, drain thoroughly, coarsely chop and set aside. Mince parsley, set aside. Place cottage cheese in a plastic bag and mash until smooth. Whisk together heavy cream, egg yolks, salt, white pepper and mashed cottage cheese just until combined. Assembly: Remove dough from refrigerator, roll to approximately 1/8-inch thickness. Line an 8-inch pie pan with the dough and poke holes at the bottom with a fork to allow steam to escape during baking. Distribute the cooked bacon and parsley evenly over the bottom of the pan. Pour filling over the bacon and parsley. Put quiche in 375 degree oven and lower the temperature to 350 degrees. Bake for 35 minutes or until set.
