Daisy's Easy Cheesy Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 1 pound 95% lean ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 28-ounce jars prepared pasta sauce
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 3 cups Daisy Brand Cottage Cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 12 no-boil lasagna noodles*

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until no longer pink. Add the salt and prepared pasta sauce; set aside. In a medium bowl mix the beaten eggs, cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Starting with the sauce, layer the sauce, noodles, and cheese mixture in a 9x13 inch baking dish. (Noodles will not completely cover sauce – they swell as they cook.) Repeat the layers twice. Top with the remaining 2 cups of mozzarella cheese. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until brown and bubbly. Let the lasagna stand for 15 minutes before serving to aid in slicing. *There are several brands of no-boil lasagna noodles, varying in size. Use enough noodles to make 3 layers.
