Ingredients
-
9 tablespoons unsalted butter
-
1 cup all purpose flour
-
1/3 cup Daisy Brand Sour Cream
-
1 cup bacon
-
2 tablespoons parsley, minced
-
3/4 cup Daisy Brand Cottage Cheese
-
1 1/8 cups heavy cream
-
6 egg yolks
-
1/4 teaspoon salt
-
1 pinch white pepper
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Crust: Cut the butter into quarter-sized pieces, toss into flour to coat. Add sour cream to the flour mixture and mix just until combined to form dough. Form a flattened ball and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before rolling out. Filling: Cook the bacon, drain thoroughly, coarsely chop and set aside. Mince the parsley and set aside. Place the cottage cheese in a plastic bag and mash until smooth. In a medium bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, egg yolks, salt, white pepper and mashed cottage cheese just until combined. Assembly: Remove the dough from the refrigerator, roll to approximately 1/8-inch thickness. Line an 8-inch pie pan with the dough and poke holes at the bottom with a fork to allow steam to escape during baking. Distribute the cooked bacon and parsley evenly over the bottom of the dough. Pour the egg filling over the bacon and parsley. Place quiche in the oven and lower the oven temperature to 350 degrees. Bake for 35 minutes or until set.
