Apple Cottage Cheese Turnovers

Ingredients

1 box Frozen Puff Pastry Sheets
*2 sheets

1 cup Daisy Brand Cottage Cheese

1 cup apple pie filling

1 dash egg wash
beat 1 egg and 1 teaspoon water together

1 dash cinnamon sugar
mix 1 teaspoon cinnamon to 1/2 cup sugar as needed

1 heavy pinch powdered sugar
as needed
Directions
Pastry: Thaw puff pastry as directed on the package. Roll each of the two sheets of dough to 10 inch x 10 inch squares. Cut into (4) 5 inch x 5 inch pieces. Brush edges lightly with egg wash.
Filling: Combine cottage cheese and apple filling. Place 1/2 tablespoons of filling in the center of each prepared piece of pastry. Fold one corner of the square over to the next on the diagonal to form a triangle. Seal along edges by pressing gently together with fingers. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm out of the oven or cooled to room temperature. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
